Generating an instant report

You can create ad hoc reports on the spot, based on your project’s Project Tracker data. Note that while you can edit such reports, you cannot store them.

Follow these steps to generate an instant report:

  1. On the Tracker Metrics landing page, click the Generate instant report link.
  2. In the Title field, enter a string for the report title.

    Note: If you leave the Title field blank, the system will automatically assign one to the report.

  3. In the Report type field, select "Trend report" or "Point in time report".
  4. Click the Next button.
  5. In the Artifact types field, select one or more values to report on, and click the Update button.

    The filters fields get populated with the corresponding attributes.
    Note: User attributes are not available. Also, if you selected multiple artifact types, the common attributes which have the same display name are available.

  6. In the State attribute filter field, select a status to filter the artifact type.
  7. In the Attribute filter field, select an additional filter from the dropdown list and click the Update button.

    A list of attribute options is displayed; select one or more of these values.

  8. Click the Next button.
  9. For a Trend report, select the Time frame for the artifact count.

    Note: The lowest level of granularity that you can select is one day.

  10. For a Point in Time report, select the grouping attributes for the artifacts and the display format for the report chart:
    • Primary grouping and Sub grouping attribute values

      Note: The primary grouping and sub grouping attributes cannot be the same.

    • Chart format

      Note: You can choose either a “clustered” or “stacked” layout for the vertical bars of artifact counts displayed in the report results.

  11. Click the View report button to see the resulting report.

Note: You can modify your report from the Metrics report page. To regenerate the report, click the Edit report button and reconfigure the parameters.
