The Tracker Metrics tool provides you the capability to generate reports based on the Project Tracker artifacts in your project.
An "Extract Transform Load" (ETL) mechanism is used to extract data daily from the production system, and transform and load it into a reporting warehouse. Reports are generated based on the warehouse data.
While generating a report you can select one or more of the available artifact types and filter them by specific attributes. For example, you can create a report for the project life span, on all defects of a particular priority, that were targeted for a specific release.
Reports are displayed as tables or graphical charts of Project Tracker artifact counts at a specific point in time, or over a period of time.
Two types of reports are available:
A Trend report displays the trends in the specified Project Tracker artifacts over a period of time. It contains one trend line for every selected artifact type. You may want to generate a Trend report, for example, when you need to know the number of defects of a particular priority that were open during the past month, in segments of one week.
A Point in time report displays the status of the specified Project Tracker artifacts at a particular point in time. It contains one stack or cluster for each selected artifact type. You may want to generate a Point in time report, for example, when you need to know the number of defects of a particular priority that were open as of the last ETL operation.
If you have the "Project - Edit" permission, you can define reports and store them on the Tracker Metrics landing page. If your project uses an Application Lifecycle Manager (ALM) template, and you have the "Project Content - Edit" permission, you can define reports and store them using the Metrics report component types.
When you click on a report image, you can view the details in the Metrics report page. You can also edit the parameters and regenerate the report.
